Thumbprints stuffed with apricot, raspberry, strawberry and cherry...some with nuts some without
Almond paste cherry topped butter cookies...these are close to my personal favorites
BUT THESE are hands down the best! I have been practicing for several years to match the cookies that my grandmother used to send us kids at Christmas time and up 'til now was generally unsuccessful. Understand that I was trying to match a professional bakers product without the benefit of the private recipe. This time I have come pretty close, these cookies are absolutely divine!First, here's how they are formed

The cookies look great! I started baking yesterday, but realized I was going to run out of time. So I refrigerated the dough and will finish up this morning.
Baking cookies is a great way to combat a cool, drafty apartment.
