On my earlier trip to Costa Rica this year, I was very careful not to discuss the deadly Fir deLance snake. This is one of the world's, most deadly snakes; they attack without provocation. If you are bitten by one, you better get to a hospital very quickly or say goodbye. There is one foe that easily overtakes them...surprisingly. Check this out

Very cool. Two things. First, before "Snakes on a Plane," there was the TV movie "Fer de Lance" about the lethal reptiles released on a submarine of the same name. Not a great movie, but it was where I first became aware of how deadly they truly are. Second, if you recall "Dr. No," one of his agents attempted to kill James Bond with a tarantula very much like the one in the video with the snake. They are truly much scarier to the uninformed and, obviously, to snakes and other reptiles than they are to man.
